Version 2.0, 1 October 2026

Home Select is the controller of the processing described here, under Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and the French Data Protection Act of 6 January 1978. Our data protection contact is Jean Mascla, founder, reachable at contact@homeselect.paris or by post at our registered office.
We have not appointed a data protection officer: the law does not require it (article 37 GDPR), as we do not process sensitive data on a large scale and do not monitor people regularly and systematically on a large scale. Our homeselect.paris websites have their own policy.
2. Your data, situation by situation
You contact us or discover our services
- Data: identity and contact details, your project (criteria, budget, areas), how you found us (including the click identifier of an online ad) and, to screen out fraudulent requests, your IP address, browser and the country derived from it. If you open an access to our Confidential offer or to the client space demo: your favourites, your messages and the pages you view (section 6).
- Purposes and legal bases: replying to you and preparing an assignment (steps taken at your request before a contract); following up on your enquiry, with an unsubscribe link in every message (legitimate interest); sending our newsletters (your consent); measuring the effectiveness of our ads and screening out fraud (legitimate interest).
- Recipients: the Home Select team and the processors in section 7.
You become a client
- Data: identity and contact details, yours and those of the people buying with you; your project, criteria, opinions and notes on properties; the messages, voice notes, photos and videos you exchange with your buyer agent; the documents you upload to your space (identity documents, supporting documents, property documents); your financial information (income, expenses, deposit, intended loan) where it serves your project or an offer; your mandates, offers and invoices.
- Purposes and legal bases: performing your mandate and supporting you until completion, keeping you informed by notification and email (contract); keeping the mandate register, invoicing and retaining accounting records (legal obligations); verifying your identity and the source of funds (legal obligation, section 4); introducing you to a financing partner or a currency exchange service (your consent, or the mandate where it provides for it).
- Recipients: your buyer agent and the team; the sellers, agencies and notaries involved in an offer or a transaction; the partner you choose; the processors in section 7.
- Your documents: you can view, download and remove the ones you uploaded at any time. If one of them was used to verify your identity or the source of your funds, we keep a restricted-access copy (section 4), and you are told so before you confirm the removal.
You are looking for a rental
- Data: only the documents allowed by French decree no. 2015-1437 (identity document, proof of address, employment contract or employer’s certificate, payslips, tax notice) and the same for your guarantor. We do not accept bank statements.
- Purpose and legal basis: building your application file and presenting it to landlords (contract). You can remove your documents at any time.
- Recipients: your buyer agent, and the landlords or agencies to whom your file is presented.
You entrust us with a property
- Data: identity and contact details, property information, photos and documents. Your identity is also verified under anti-money laundering rules (section 4).
- Purpose and legal basis: presenting and selling your property (contract or pre-contractual steps; legitimate interest when we approach a professional seller).
- Recipients: the team, the buyers to whom we present the property and the processors in section 7.
You are an agent or a professional partner
- Data: name, agency, business email and phone; properties offered and files uploaded (photos, PDFs, videos); exchanges with our buyer agents; for the agent space, the mobile number verified by text code, login sessions and your notification choices. They come from what you enter or send us, your listings on property portals and business contact files acquired from providers.
- Purposes and legal bases: reviewing the properties you offer and replying to you, keeping our agents directory and sending you our current searches, including the Tuesday newsletter (legitimate interest linked to the business relationship; you can object at any time through the link in each newsletter); managing your agent space (performance of its terms of use). The files you upload and the listings you link to may be read by an automated analysis tool to fill in the form for you; a buyer agent reviews every property.
- Recipients: the team and the processors in section 7, including Brevo for the Tuesday newsletter and for login codes.
Someone refers you to us
When a client, a relative or a business introducer refers you to us, they give us your name and contact details. We tell you so at our first contact, and we erase your data without delay if you ask us to (legitimate interest).
You apply to become a buyer agent
Your application and CV are kept in a private space and used to review your profile (pre-contractual steps).
You call our switchboard
Our switchboard is assisted by a telephone answering service (Allo): your call may be recorded and transcribed, and your request is extracted for the relevant buyer agent (pre-contractual steps).

4. Anti-money laundering
Home Select is a real estate professional subject to anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing obligations (articles L.561-2 et seq. of the French Monetary and Financial Code). We must therefore identify and verify the identity of our clients, of the people buying with them, of the beneficial owners of companies and of the sellers of the properties we present, assess the level of due diligence of each transaction and check names against the national asset freeze register. Where the situation justifies it, our compliance officer may check the consistency of information against publicly available sources, using an automated analysis tool whose results he reviews himself.
This processing is based on a legal obligation. The data and documents are kept for five years after the end of the relationship, including the copy of a document you may later have removed from your space. They are accessible only to our compliance officer, to the management and, for the checks he carries out, to your buyer agent. Where the law requires it, they are disclosed to the competent authorities. For this data, the right of access is exercised through the CNIL (article L.561-45 of the French Monetary and Financial Code). No decision is made automatically: a person reviews every situation.
5. Automated tools and artificial intelligence
We use automated analysis tools for some tasks:
- drafting texts and replies, reading the documents and listings sent to us and, in the Confidential offer, answering some chat messages and sending you a first review of the documents you upload (Anthropic, United States);
- transcribing voice notes (OpenAI, United States);
- editing property photos (Google Gemini, United States);
- recording and transcribing calls to our switchboard (Allo);
- analysing public sources for anti-money laundering checks (section 4).
These providers act as processors under contract (section 7). None of these tools alone makes a decision that produces legal effects concerning you or significantly affects you: your buyer agent and our team remain in charge of your file.
6. Cookies and trackers
The application sets no advertising cookie, no audience measurement cookie and no third-party cookie. It only uses cookies needed for it to work, which are exempt from consent:
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| Login session | Keep you signed in | Until you sign out, 1 year at most |
| hs_appareil | Recognise a device already used, for login security | 1 year |
| hs_lang | Remember your language | 1 year |
| hs_pro_session | Agents' space session | 90 days |
| hs_demo_email, hs_chasseur_id | Client space demonstration | 30 days |
| hs_rappro_filtres | Remember filters in our buyer agents' tool | 12 months |
| hs_impersonate | Support by our administrators (team only) | 8 hours |
In the demo space and the Confidential prospect access, we record the pages viewed, clicks, durations and errors, to understand how the space is used and adapt our support (legitimate interest). No value typed into a field is recorded. This data is kept for 13 months.
Some follow-up emails of the Confidential offer measure whether they are opened and which links are clicked. You can object to this measurement by writing to us, and unsubscribe from follow-ups through the link in each of them.
7. Recipients, processors and transfers
Your data is processed by the Home Select team, each member for what concerns them. We never sell your data. Where your file requires it, it may be disclosed to the sellers, agencies and notaries involved in an offer or a transaction, to the landlords to whom your rental file is presented, to the partner you choose and to the authorities where the law requires it. If you use our mobile apps, Apple and Google also process data as controllers of their platforms.
Ad measurement: if you came through a Google ad, we send Google Ads the click identifier of your visit with the stage your enquiry reached (qualified enquiry, signed mandate), its date and value, to measure the effectiveness of our campaigns (legitimate interest). No name, email or phone number is sent. You can object by writing to us.

8. Security
Exchanges are encrypted (HTTPS). Access to the application requires authentication, and database-level rules restrict each account to what concerns it. Your documents are stored in private storage spaces, opened through temporary links. The application’s data is hosted in the European Union (Frankfurt).
9. Your rights
You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection, including to marketing, at any time. You can withdraw a consent you gave, not be subject to a decision based solely on automated processing, and give instructions about what happens to your data after your death (article 85 of the French Data Protection Act).
To exercise them, write to contact@homeselect.paris or to our data protection contact at our registered office. We reply within one month, which may be extended by two months for a complex request, and we may ask you to prove your identity if we have reasonable doubts. To stop receiving our emails, use the link in each of them; for our marketing text messages, reply STOP.
Some data must be kept despite an erasure request: anti-money laundering documents and records, mandates, the mandate register and accounting records. We erase everything else and tell you what we keep and why. For data processed for anti-money laundering purposes, the right of access is exercised through the CNIL (section 4).
You can lodge a complaint with the CNIL (cnil.fr). You can also ask for your account to be deleted from the account deletion page.
10. Minors, changes and version
Our services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect data about minors, apart from what you tell us about your household for your search.
This policy may change. Its version and date, at the top of the page, change with every update. Version 2.0, 1 October 2026.
